Does Apple iPhone 7 Outperform Google Pixel Phones?

Google recently unveiled its newest smartphone series, Pixel and Pixel XL last Oct. 4 replacing the Nexus line-up with a pair of new premium android run smartphones.

The smaller phone, Pixel comes in a pricetag that is the same as the iPhone 7. Aside from this, both phones also come in almost the same shape and design.

The question is, how does Pixel compare to Apple's iPhone 7?

Google Pixel vs Apple iPhone 7: Design

Google Pixel opts for a combination of aluminum and glass equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the back of its phone, while the iPhone 7 is fully aluminum made and places its fingerprint sensor in its home button.

The iPhone 7 is water and dust resistant with IP67 rating while Pixel is only IP53 which means that it cannot be submerged.

Unlike the iPhone 7, Pixel keeps its headphone jack intact at the top. The Pixel measures 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.6mm and weighs 143g, while the iPhone 7 is smaller, lighter and slimmer, measuring 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1mm and weighing 138g.

Google's smartphone comes in three colors, very silver, quite black and really blue while Apple's phone comes in rose gold, gold, silver, black and jetblack.

Google Pixel sports a 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and uses an AMOLED technology, Pocket-Lint reported.

The Apple iPhone 7 on the other hand has a 4.7-inch display with a 1334 x 750 resolution. Based on the given numbers, Pixel will offer sharper and crisper images but the iPhone 7's display is remarkable despite its resolution being lower than Pixels'.

Apple iPhone 7 comes in with a 12 megapixel rear camera with a slightly wider aperture of f/1.8. It has an optical image stablization and phase detection autofocus including a quad LED-flash.

The Google Pixel has a 12.3-megapixel rear camera offering an aperture of f/2.0 and 1.55µm pixels. There is video stabilization, phase detection autofocus and laser detection autofocus all on board, along with a dual-LED flash,.

In terms of the phone's front camera, Pixel has an 8-megapixel f/2.4 sensor with 1.4µm pixels, while the iPhone 7 has a 7-megapixel f/2.2 sensor with a Retina Flash.

Google Pixel vs Apple iPhone 7: Specs

The Google Pixel and the Apple iPhone 7 both has a quad-core processor. The Pixel opts for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with 4GB of RAM support, while the iPhone 7 features Apple's A10 Fusion chip and M10 motion coprocessor including a 3GB of RAM support.

The Pixel is available in 32GB and 128GB storage options and the iPhone 7 is available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB options. Neither of the device offers microSD storage expansion.

In terms of battery, the Pixel has a 2,770 mAh capacity, while the iPhone 7 lands at 1, 960mAh.

Both the Google Pixel and Apple iPhone 7 start at a base price of $649 for the 32GB model. The price jumps at $749 for 128 GB Google Pixel. In comparison, the 256 GB iPhone 7 costs $849.

When it comes to the price and specifications, its hard to tell which is which. Google Pixel wins in terms of resolution, display size, battery capacity, RAM and front-facing camera solution. Meanwhile, iPhone 7 ditches the Pixel in terms of its size, display functionality, water proofing, storage options and a impressive camera.
