Legend of Korra: 'Turf Wars' To Be Released in June 2017

"Avatar" fans can once again celebrate as "The Legend of Korra" has been declared to be getting its own sequel story in print media format, with the first of the planned three-part graphic novel series for the show set to hit sometime in June next year and will be entitled "Turf Wars."

Entertainment Weekly announced it, as shared by IGN, disclosing that Avatar Korra's story in the "The Legend of Korra" series will continue over a graphic book series and it will be released next year. It is a three-part series graphic novel, with the first book being called "Turf Wars, with the story written by "Avatar" series co-creator Michael DiMartino and drawn by artist Irene Koh while "Avatar" series co-creator Bryan Konietzko will be providing the response.

"The Legend of Korra" concluded in 2014, after an almost consecutive broadcast of its final two seasons. Originally visualized as a miniseries sequel to "Avatar: The Last Airbender," which after renamed to "The Legend of Aang," "The Legend of Korra" ultimately blew up into a full blown series even though with less seasons compared to its forerunner.

"The Legend of Korra" TV series splendidly ended with one of the most questionable finales in record, with the final shot of the series display of the two main female leads Korra and Asami holding hands. The series' makers later confirmed that the two did have a growing romance, which will probably be probed in "The Legend of Korra" graphic novels.

Konietzko and DiMartino first declared the graphic novel at last year's Comic Con, and the duo always intended to carry on Korra's and Asami's plots.

While waiting for the release of Turf Wars, you can review the entire book when The Legend of Korra: The Complete Series box set emerges on December 13, 2016.
