If you are a TV junkie, I know you've watched Daredevil 2 and we saw the appearance of Frank Castle a.k.a The Punisher. In my opinion, this might be the best thing that happened to Daredevil TV series history.
Due to fans reaction and the overwhelming popularity, it is no surprise that Netflix finally announced a standalone Punisher show. Jon Bernthal's portrayal of the vigilante punisher is on point. Frank Castle or Frank Castiglione is a former U.S. Marine Captain who was born in New york to parents of Italian ancestry.
In his early years, Frank once thought of becoming a Catholic priest but changed his mind due to he can't stand evil doers. Frank and his family were having a great time and on a picnic when they witnessed a mafia gangland execution. The event led to his family being murdered by Costa crime on the spot. However, Castle survived. He then began to start evolving as the punisher, where he seeks death and punishment to any criminals onsite. With his knowledge and skills acquired during his marine days, he is considered as a lethal and destructive one-man army.
The Punisher's trademark is a symbol of death's head on his body armor, usually on a trench long black coat. He camouflages or blends himself in the darkness as if stating that he's about to destroy you. The Punisher is not only great at killing people but a smart tactician as well. He constantly trains whenever he is not doing anything important. He has a remarkable physique and conditioning that he maintains whenever possible.
Frank is known by many names such as Big Nothing, Major Bateman, Ted Bishop, Cliff Callador, Castigo, Chaloner, Fred D'Amato, Eastman, Charles Fort, Frank Loomis, McRook, Melchior, Joe Rainey, Frank Rook, Richard Rook, Tony Knowlen Ross, Francis Stronghold, Johnny Tower, Dmitri Velikoff, Frankie Villa, Yousoufian; and numerous others.
