Machinima and Gearbox have released the first Behind the Scenes trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter “Aliens: Colonial Marines.”
“Aliens: Colonial Marines” begins with a supposedly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players will lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew.
The game, which has been described as a true sequel to James Cameron's film, takes place after the events of the third film, "Alien 3," and the story is told through Corporal Christopher Winter, a Colonial Marine, who is a part of a search and rescue team sent to investigate the U.S.S. Sulaco in search of Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, and the rest of the missing marines who were dispatched to LV-426.
"Aliens: Colonial Marines" is set to feature a campaign with dynamic drop-in/drop-out cooperative multiplayer for up to four players online or two players locally via split screen. Although competitive multiplayer has been confirmed, Gearbox has only hinted at Aliens vs Marines gameplay so far.
The game is currently slated for a February 2013 release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
