HP Launches Desktop Systems Based On AMD's 7th Generation Pro APU Chips

HP has unveiled the first PC lineup powered by the AMD's 7th-generation Pro APU chips, its EliteDesk 750 G3.

The Inquirer reports that AMD's 7th-generation Bristol Ridge Pro APU is a CPU and GPU on a single chip. The Pro APU is designed for demanding business applications likely to be run by users of high-performance business desktop machines.

AMD's Bristol Ridge Pro APU features advanced AMD's Secure Processor technology designed to boost data security. This new Secure Processor technology supports Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and contains an "independent hardware-based root of trust for application security, content protection and secure boot.

According to AMD, its 7th-generation Pro APU can deliver 22 percent higher graphics and 14 percent higher compute performance than the previous generation. The advanced chip features CPU-agnostic desktop and mobile architecture for system hardware (DASH) manageability and comes with open standards for easy integration and system management.

HP EliteDesk 750 G3

The HP EliteDesk 705 G3 series comes with TPM 2.0 data security, as well as HP's Sure Start BIOS and policy protections. The system comes in mini form factor and small form factor.

According to HP, the EliteDesk 705 G3 provides security and manageability as well as impressive value with uncompromising performance, delivering "an enterprise-class experience."

The VP of product management for commercial desktops at HP, Guayente Sanmartin, said that the HP EliteDesk 705 G3 desktop series are powered by the newly launched 7th-generation AMD Pro processors in order to achieve security and flexibility, as well as more performance for enterprise customers.

According to HotHardware, Hewlett-Packard's EliteBook 705 G3 series is available in three form factors: 12.5-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch. Among the available screen resolutions are included QHD, FHD and HD options. The machines are powered by AMD processors, up to a powerful AMD Pro A12 APU that comes with integrated Radeon R7 graphics. They also come with docking support, the HP Premium Keyboard, GbE jacks, USB-C ports, full-size DisplayPort, Bang & Olufsen audio and an external SIM slot for optional WWAN connectivity.
