Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Are Coming But There's A Catch

Last month, Fallout 4 fans have seemingly lost their hopes in Bethesda's plan to unleash PS4 mods. But after a few hiccups, the studio delivered what was promised -- the modding feature is finally coming to Sony's titular gaming system. While this is definitely a great news, there's a catch -- it's limited, sadly.

On the official site of Bethesda, the studio announced that they're finally releasing Fallout 4 mods on PS4. Not only that, an added 4K support feature (for PS4 Pro) is expected to be introduced. While these are confirmed to arrive, the mods will be coming first to Skyrim Remastered.

The release date of the aforementioned mods remain unknown as far as Fallout 4 is concerned. For Skyrim Remastered, however, it'll be made available as soon as the game launches come October 28. Nevertheless, it's still a good thing considering that these are official and confirmed.

But before Fallout 4 players get way too excited, they might want to review what the video game company stated. First and foremost, the mods on the said console will let players either modify or create their own content through the utilization of the so-called Creation Kit. However, uploading external assets won't be happening -- at all. They'll be only able to use any assets that all arrive alongside the game.

With what has been revealed, this only means that Fallout 4 players in PS4 can only work with announced assets (i.e. objects, sound, textures, etc.). Obviously, the latter are already populated in the game's irradiated wastes as well as Skyrim's dragon-themed universe. So for those who're wondering if custom-made mod is possible, they better not hope so.

While it's still possible for Fallout 4 players to come up with unique modded locations and/or scenarios, they can't expect to see the likes of Pacific Rim-like power armors and/or suits. Heck, they can't even expect the greatness that is Thomas The Death Engine. Simply put, the experience won't be that invigorating.

This is certainly a bummer for most Fallout 4 fans in PS4. But hey, it's way better than having none, right? As of this writing, Bethesda has yet to comment an official release date for the mods in the game.

What are your thoughts on Fallout 4 PS4 mods? Are you also saddened by the fact that there'll be no custom-made mods? Any think you can share to us about this? Let us know at the comment section below!
