Castlevania fans have been asking when Koji Igarashi will release its sequel Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night which had been presented on Kickstarter. After its crowdfunding success, the game was able to find a publisher: 505 Games, which is also responsible for publishing Sniper Elite III and Payday 2.
The announcement was posted by Create Games on their Kickstarter page. After that a video was also shown which features Igarashi in a cowboy's hat and carrying a whip. The video also featured 505 Games President Ian Howe telling fans that they are happy to be part of bringing Bloodstained to life. He also praised Igayashi saying the game developer had a "wonderful history of making games." Howell also said that 505 is as thrilled as the fans into making this dream into a reality.
"We promise to do everything we can to help Iga realize this vision," Howe added.
The video also featured some scenes of Bloodstained and one can't help but notice that the setting is reminiscent of Castlevania except that the main protagonist is a female character and not Alucard. So far only the background and the main character can only be seen.
Regarding their partnership with 505, Igarashi said that they want more people to play the game so they need a partner who will help them with that.
"We believe this isn't possible with our power alone. We are so grateful that a publisher with a vast marketing power such as 505 Games will be working with our small production team," Igarashi said and then added that they don't want to disappoint everyone.
The game targets a 2018 date release and will be available on PC, XBox One, PS4, Wii U, PS Vita, and Mac. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been the most funded Kickstarter game receiving $5.5 million and knocking Shenmue 3 from the top spot.
