Fans of the Disney movie "Tangled" are in for a surprise as actors Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are reprising their characters as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in a whole new series.
Disney has just announced that one of its highest grossing animated films, 'Tangled' will be adapted in to a TV series. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will return to voice the main characters in this silver screen spin-off. Along with that announcement, an official trailer was released to kick off the promotions for the new Disney animated series.
The trailer revealed that alongside Rapunzel and Flynn, other familiar characters will join the two, namely Pascal and Maximus. Aside from the two adorable animal characters, it has also been revealed that the real star of the story will be making a comeback, which is Rapunzel's hair. It is noted as well that the series has introduced Flynn as Eugene, which is his real name as disclosed in the animated film, and will most likely be used in the animated series. The 15-second trailer also unveiled a whole new animation art for the series, which is entirely different from the 3D animation it used in the making of the movie.
With the revelation of the characters who will be present in the series, it is has been reported that Jeffrey Tambor, M.C. Gainey, and Paul F. Tompkins will also be returning along with Moore and Levi to voice their characters, Big Nose, Captain of the Guard, and Shorty respectively. New characters will grace the new animated series as well, which will be voiced by famous actors such as Ashley Judd, Jeff Ross, Sean Hayes, and Eden Espinosa.
The Disney animated film, 'Tangled' was adapted from the famous German fairytale titled 'Rapunzel'. Its story revolves around a princess who has been held captive and isolated in a tower by an evil witch. Disney's version of the story stuck to the original story but oomphed it by giving the story a comedy approach and a touch of Disney's signature happy endings to suit all ages. The new 'Tangled: The Series' is set to be released in 2017 on Disney Channel.
