A very star-studded all women cast of the movie "Ocean's Eight" was revealed recently. The movie is a spin-off of the hit flick "Ocean's Eleven" which was aired on the silver screen in 2001.
The original movie, "Ocean's Eleven," follows the story of the charismatic Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his gang to rob The Bellagio, The Mirage, and MGM Grand simultaneously. Like the spin-off, "Ocean's Eight," the cast are high profile A-listers like Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, and Andy Garcia. The film was followed by two more sequels and grossed more than $1.1 billion nationwide.
Sandra Bullock will lead the movie about a group of thieves who will try to pull off a major heist. She will star along with celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, and rapper- actress Nora Lum who is more commonly known as Awkwafina.
The movie still lacks one more main character and in earlier rumors, Elizabeth Banks was slated to star in the movie. However, there is no confirmation yet if she has signed to star in the film.
The movie will be directed by Gary Ross who has "The Hunger Games" and "Free State of Jones" under his credential belt. Previous "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh will produce along with executive producer Susan Ekins. Similar to the first franchise, Village Roadshow will co-produce and co-finance the whole movie.
As of the moment, no plot details or storyline has been revealed for "Ocean's Eight." Fans are also eager to know if Danny Ocean will make an appearance on the spin-off since rumor has it that lead actress Sandra Bullock will play the role of the ex-con's sister.
"Ocean's Eight" is slated to hit the theaters on June 08, 2018 which is the same week as "Transformers 6" and two weeks before the much awaited new "Star Wars" movie.
