Ever since it has been announced that "The Vampire Diaries" will already be on their last season this year, speculations of its spin-off "The Originals" cancellation started to resurface. However, whether true or not, there is still a lot in store for the latter's upcoming season four.
The End Of "The Vampire Diaries" Also Mean The End Of "The Originals?"
"The Originals" is a spin-off series from the CW supernatural drama "The Vampire Diaries." The characters' appearance during the predecessor series has been very well recognized that the network decided to pick up a spin-off series, focusing solely on the family of the original vampires. Thus, that was when "The Originals" was created, with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) leading the family.
According to some reports, the third season of "The Originals" only garnered an average of 0.93 million viewers. Nevertheless, the series was still renewed for the fourth season. However, due to the result of the ratings, rumor has is that season four of the series will already be their last.
Executive producer of "The Originals" Julie Plec announced during the San Diego Comic Con that "The Vampire Diaries" was coming to an end, but said nothing about "The Originals." Thus, the fans believe it is safe to assume that the series still has more seasons coming ahead. As a matter of fact, there is still a lot to be excited about in the upcoming season.
The Mikaelson Family To Face Great Danger In Upcoming "The Originals" Season 4
It has been known that the Mikaelson family is the original vampire family, making them the strongest among all of them. Klaus, the hybrid, is the most immortal one of them since he is part werewolf making him more special than the rest of his siblings. However, rumor has it that in the upcoming "The Originals" season four, they will be facing more danger than they have ever anticipated in hundreds of years they have been alive.
Since the upcoming "The Originals" season four will feature a five-year time jump, odds are the daughter of Klaus, Hope, will be the saviour of the family. She has been considered the most special of them all, as she has been conceived by an original vampire and a werewolf. Either that or Caroline, Klaus' love that he left in Mystic Falls will reportedly be the one to save the former from his unfortunate situation.
"The Originals" season four is set to premiere on January 2017.
