Anybody remember the Chameleon Launcher project? For those of you who are new to this, or if you have forgotten completely about it, the Chameleon Launcher project appeared not very long ago on Kickstarter. Now it’s back and the good news is that it is being shipped in beta form.
Per latest reports, the launcher is now available on Google Play and users will get an e-mail with instructions on how to unlock Chameleon. The key idea behind Chameleon is that you’ll have the opportunity to use a different home screen for different situations.
According to a Pocketnow report, “You’ll have a homescreen for the morning, a homescreen for work, and a homescreen for the evening. What’s more, the widgets for Chameleon all have a consistent look and feel, so you never get a cluttered homescreen with a wide variety of widgets.”
Chameleon, owing to its beta state, is quite limited as far as functionality goes. As of now, you’ll get just five basic widgets, with widgets for Spotify and Netflix arriving soon. The launcher seems like it has been developed to serve tablets more than smartphones.
Chameleon replaces the standard Android Home Screens and App Launcher with one that isn't just more useful, but more beautiful as well. You can set up multiple Home Screens with your own layout of widgets and apps, giving you the most relevant information that you want, when you want it. So, whenever you unlock your device, you are presented with the Home Screen that is immediately valuable to you.
