Daniel Craig gave the clearest indication recently as to what his feeling is in the matter of reprising his role as the MI6 super spy in the latest "James Bond" movie. He said that if he "were to stop doing it," he would "miss it terribly." Has no one decided yet on who's going to play the iconic British spy on the upcoming movie?
Craig Was Reluctant To Continue After "Spectre"
After completing the last installment of the franchise, "Spectre," Craig very clearly stated that he is reluctant in continuing the role. In an interview with Time Out magazine, he said he would "rather break this glass and slash my wrists." It appeared that his feelings at that time regarding the role was already set.
This Is Not Good For Other Actors
If Craig holds on to his latest sentiments, it would mean bad news for other actors seemingly being considered to topbill the next "James Bond" movie. These include James Norton, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender and Jamie Bell. Even Tom Hiddleston's name was thrown in the lot, along with hundreds of other notable actors.
Producers Seem To Have Their Eyes Only On Craig
It also appears that the eyes of the latest "James Bond" movie producers are set on Craig. To them, there can only be one double O7 - Daniel Craig. The executive producer of the film franchise, Callum McDougall says he and co-producer Michael Wilson along with their top honcho, Barbara Broccoli want Craig to return at all cost.
"We would love Daniel to return as Bond, without any question," said Callum in an interview with Radio 4. He added that Craig is their "first choice" to keep playing James Bond. Craig first played the role of the iconic British spy in "Casino Royale" which was released in 2006. It's now ten years later, and his fifth James Bond movie if this development pushes through.
