Apple’s upcoming iOS 6, which the company announced in June, is currently still in its beta stages. The Cupertino-based company has released as many as four beta versions with an aim to allow developers to test and discover the latest changes the new OS will bring about.
The company, on Monday, released the fourth beta of the OS, iOS 6 beta 4 build 10A5376e, to developers. The new beta has arrived just three weeks after the third beta. The new iOS 6 beta, released as an over-the-air (OTA) update, is also available in the iOS Dev Center.
With the iOS 6 Beta 4 firmware now released with various changes and additions, you are probably wondering if it can be Jailbroken. Per reports, MuscleNerd has already tweeted that you can use the previous developmental version of RedSn0w to Jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 4 as long as you point it to iOS 6 Beta 3.
"JB devs can continue using redsn0w 0.9.13dev3 with todays iOS 6 beta4 (keep pointing redsn0w at iOS 6 beta3 IPSW)," MuscleNerd tweeted.
iOS 6 has been considered to be a major update with significant changes from Apple. One of the key features and improvements, among many, included in the new OS is Apple's own advanced mapping system - offering the 3D mapping feature, fly-over city tours, and efficient turn-by-turn navigation.
However, there are a few things you need to keep in mind:
Since these beta versions of iOS 6 are meant for developers alone, this jailbreak is also intended only for developers of jailbroken apps to update their Cydia packages to support iOS 6.
Redsn0w must be pointed at iOS 6 beta3 IPSW.
This jailbreak will not install Cydia since a number of packages have not been updated to support the new firmware.
