Activision and Treyarch have released the first multiplayer trailer for the upcoming “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.”
The trailer, quite ironically, starts with a scene that will somewhat remind you of DICE’s hit FPS title, “Battlefield 3.” However, after that brief scene, we are back again on the usual CoD MP action.
“Black Ops 2” is the first game in the “Call of Duty” franchise to have a completely futuristic setting and future warfare technology. It also presents branching storylines driven by player choice for the first time in the franchise's history.
Although it is expected to be an exciting prospect for gamers, some believe that the “Call of Duty” series is set to slowly wrap up within the next two years due to some of its many longtime developers' contracts nearing end.
Previously, it was reported that the new game will feature adaptable FOV (Field of View) and lean-in Multiplayer. Per Cesar Stastny, Treyarch’s lead PC developer, an adjustable FOV breaks a lot of things in SP mode. Stastny, most obviously, is referring to all those scripted events that will plague “Call of Duty” yet again. However, a simple FOV change, according to a DSOGaming report, should not break things (already proved in “The Darkness II”). Treyarch is still evaluating and a few may hope that they’ll find a way to enable the FOV slider in SP mode.
It was also revealed that “Black Ops 2” will support both DX10 and DX11. Even though Treyarch didn’t share any minimum specs for it, they claimed that the game is running currently without problems on 8800′s and 3870′s.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” is currently planned for a November 13 release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
