Legendary golfer Tiger Woods has resumed his career after a 14-month break, and it will be at the Safeway Open in California.
The last time Tiger Woods competed for a golf championship was way back in August 2015 at Wyndham Championship. The result was not as stellar, as Woods just managed to bag the 10th place.
The Safeway Open in California will start on Oct. 13 and will get all the publicity it can handle once the famous golfer sets his foot on the green. Woods even remarked that fans would be seeing a lot of him in the coming months.
"I'm looking forward to going to California for my foundation event and Safeway," he said in back in September. "I'm also excited to return to Turkey and Albany. It could be a fun fall.
The event will give Tiger Woods a chance to get one step closer to a hallowed record in golfing history. If successful, Woods would get to a staggering 79 PGA titles, only 3 short of Sam Snead's record of 82 titles.
Wood's 14-month hiatus was not exactly a quiet one. He was recovering from his third back surgery and wanted to take a good chunk of time to heal.
"My rehabilitation is to the point where I'm comfortable making plans, but I still have work to do," the all-time great said.
The golfer was also swamped with a myriad of other personal activities.
"It was great spending time with my children Sam and Charlie, and also working on a lot of projects including golf-course design, the upcoming 20th anniversary of my foundation and my book about the 1997 Masters."
But now the great Tiger Woods is officially back, and after a 14- month hiatus, fans are hoping he can get back to his old form when he tees off at the Safeway Open in California.
