After "Reply 1988" producing director Shin Won Ho had finished work on the DVD for the 2015 series, he said he is preparing for the next "Reply" series installment to be aired in 2017. He made the announcement on Sunday at an event for tvN10 Festival.
According to Soompi, the festival is a celebration of the cable channel's productions over the past decade, many of which were hits. These include the network's three "Reply" series - "Reply 1997," "Reply 1994" and "Reply 1988."
"Reply 1988," the third installment of the cable channel's "Reply" series, was inspired by MBC's 1986 "Three Families Under One Roof." It was critically acclaimed and highly popular with its finale episode logging an 18.8 percent audience share, making it one of the highest-rated Hallyu dramas in the history of Korean cable TV.
