Lenovo Announces Release of ThinkPad T430u

Lenovo seems to be working overtime as the Chinese company has been announcing new products one after the other. Amidst growing anticipation surrounding Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 and after making an official announcement about ThinkPad X1 Carbon, the company, on Wednesday (Aug. 8), announced the launch of its ThinkPad T430u.

The ThinkPad T430u, first unveiled at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in February, is an "ultraportable," business laptop running Windows 7.

While the original price was $849, Lenovo has slashed the starting price to $779.

The new ThinkPad T430u will sport a 14-inch screen with 1366 x 768 resolution, Ivy Bridge processor, up to 8GB of RAM, either a standard HDD or a 128GB SSD, and a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 620M graphics unit. The ultra-portable laptop is 0.83 inches thick and weighs 4.08 pounds. According to the company, the laptop will give an impressive seven hours of battery life.

While Lenovo is yet to confirm the exact release date of the device, the company confirmed that it will be by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, Lenovo has also announced that it will make the ThinkPad X1 Carbon available from Aug. 21. The Carbon ultrabook is 18mm thick and weighs 3 pounds. All the models of the ultra-thin Carbon sport carbon fiber case, a 14-inch matte HD+ antiglare display, Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor, 1600 x 900 resolution with brightness up to 300 nits, 4GB of RAM, 128 GB solid state disk, front-facing camera for video chat with 720p resolution, and Lenovo's excellent ThinkPad Precision keyboard. The base version, however, does not provide the 3G option.

All these features come at a reasonable price of $1399 and upwards.
