It took players of "Destiny: Rise of Iron" only two weeks to beat their self-imposed challenge of killing Aksis, the final boss of Wrath of the Machine raid. The group of fans defeated Aksis without firing their guns.
They only used grenades and melee attacks, Gamerant reported. The two methods were creative and challenging ways the players discovered to conquer the game's PvE endgame activity. They completed the run using a full fireteam of Sunsinger Warlocks.
The players used melee attacks to mainly handle adds. During the damage phase, the gamers activated their Supers and threw tons of Fusion grenades. Since the fight mechanics require the firing of some weapons, they particularly used the Scorch Cannon to take down the Servitors which contain the SIVA Charge to make Aksis teleport.
No Other Weapons Used
Outside Servitors, the gamers did not use weapons on other enemies or to fire at Aksis. No one among them also fired their own equipped weapons. Using red plates scattered across the room was the trick gamers used to take down Aksis in the required number of damage phases because of the limited number of disappearing pillars which kept players alive between teleport phases.
What made defeating Aksis possible was the use of Empowered Guardians, an ignored mechanic and tactic widely unused. However, the Empowered Guardians and the red plates could take a more significant role in Heroic Mode or Challenge Mode in the future.
Killing Aksis surpassed the previous feat of Destiny fans when a group of three Guardians beat the entire raid without dying.
Heroic Mode Launch Date
The Heroic Mode of Destiny: Rise of Iron's Wrath of the Machine would launch on Oct. 18. The mode throws in one or two extra mechanics into each fight and dials up the overall difficulty. It is done by disabling fireteam revives, as per Forbes report. The arrival of the Heroic Mode would mean exotic engrams and faction rewards which are two of the most reliable avenues towards max-level gear.
