Smartphone and tablet users are in for a treat as Google has decided to give a facelift to the search results on mobile and tablet devices, bringing both aesthetic and purposeful changes to browser-based search.
“We’ve recently made improvements to some of these answers to make them richer, more beautiful, and more interactive. When you search for weather on tablet and mobile, you’ll see a new 10-day and hourly weather forecast that you can interact with. Our calculator feature also got a makeover - you can search for any calculation on google.com and you’ll get a fully functional scientific calculator at your fingertips,” the official Google blog states.
The revamped interface, which actually looks quite similar to Google Now's cards, is designed to make search results a bit easier to the eye and useful.
The list of items that will get the new look include finance, currency conversion, unit conversion, dictionary definitions, local time lookup, and holiday and sunrise time results, as well as flights.
This revamped interface also follows up the new weather and calculator widgets the company has recently launched. The look has been represented in the new flight calculator image below. The image includes a visual of the flight’s progress.
The latest revamp has been implemented to make spotting of information easier and at a glance, allowing for quicker interactive changes to data points like the units being converted. Quite a cool move owing to the searches that you may need to make while you are on the move, with a minimum of additional information.
currently, the changes are rolling out to English users on mobile but Google says that they will be coming international users' way soon.
