'Percy Jackson' News And Update: TV Series Sooner Than Expected On CW? New Actor Plays Titular Role?

It looks like "Percy Jackson" TV series is happening soon as reports claim that CW has picked up the book series and production can start anytime. However, Logan Lerman may not be back to reprise his role as Percy Jackson.

According to reports, CW could now be looking for a new and younger actor, preferably 14 years old or at least someone who looks like one, to take the demigod role. If this rumor is true, it would make sense that the rest of the cast will also be changed as Jackson's friends would have to be in the same age too.

Sources claim that CW has already given a $12 million budget for the series and prefers the show to start from scratch. This means that instead of continuing where the movie left off, they will be starting again from book 1 "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief". This explains why they need to find another actor to play the titular role and possibly the rest of the cast.

There has been no announcement of the validity of these speculations and the reason behind the rumored decision.

"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is a film series based on the novel by Rick Riordan of the same title. It is produced by 1492 Pictures and already has two movie installments titled "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" in 2010 and "Percy Jackson: Sea Monsters" in 2013. The film series grossed almost $430 million at the international box office which made fans speculate that a third movie installment is not too far away. However, it's been two years but no announcement has been made for its next installment.

The movie centers in the life of a boy named Percy Jackson, half human and half god, who is accused of stealing Zeus' lightning. He then goes on a mission to prove his innocence and save his mother from the underworld.
