The much awaited animated film of Guillermo Del Toro titled "Trollhunters" features Steven Yeun of "The Walking Dead" along with Anton Yelchin, Charlie Saxton, Kelsey Grammer and Ron Perlman. This series is the first collaboration between Netflix and the award-winning director, who is known for his fairy tales and horror films.
"Trollhunters" bring Del Toro back into the world of animation and it's a story not just for the kids but for the whole family. "I wanted something clean, crisp, very humanistic, very emotionally pure," Del Toro explained. He adds that the movie has the same spirit like "The Book of Life" that shows the Mexican film director's signature style of creativity and family element. "Creatively one of the best experiences I have had." He adds.
During the New York Comic Con event, the first episode of the series has been revealed. As shown in the trailer, the show starts with two trolls fighting for their lives under a bridge. One of the trolls, with a mysterious amulet, jumps into the sun that turned him into a stone and breaks as he reaches the ground. The mysterious stone, left in the rubble. This is where the lead character, Jim, comes in who finds the stone and introduces him and his buddy in the secret world of trolls.
Among the cast, Yeun and Saxton were asked in a recent interview what their fans from other shows will like about this series. Yeun answered "I think they'll like the gore, the guts..." which should be a normal sight for "The Walking Dead" fans while Saxton said "Lot of gore - tendons." Yeun added "Kids today are a little bit smarter. But what's great about Trollhunters is that it's the same way. They don't talk down to the kids. And so everybody is going to be able to turn it on and watch it. "Trollhunters" will air on Netflix on December 23.
