In line with the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff promo, "SoA" creator Kurt Sutter once again teased fans with a new photo featuring the Mayans and Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera). From it, fans created a buzz about Sutter's caption of the photo teaser, as it seems to suggest the show will come out earlier than expected.
The popular crime drama "Sons of Anarchy" has been off televisions for almost two years now since it aired its series finale, but the fans of SAMCRO are still demanding for another series of exciting motorcycling adventure with the stars. And last year, fans were given renewed hope as Sutter announced a developing spinoff at the San Diego Comic Con. The creator has constantly posted updates and photo teasers on his social media accounts since then.
With the new teaser promo that Sutter posted on Oct. 6 on his Instagram account, which he captioned with "Are you ready for this?#MayansMC," fans are becoming more convinced that the spinoff will tackle mostly the Mayans and Alvarez. Based on Sutter's previous posts, the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff will convey a few twists and surprises, which might include the comeback of the Mayans's gang leader, Alvarez, who last appeared in the show's season five. However, there has not been much word yet on whether Rivera will reprise his role in the upcoming spinoff.

The plot of the "Mayans MC" is yet unclear, though strong proofs and speculation point at a spinoff synopsis that will no longer talk much about Jax Teller and his club SAMCRO, but would rather tell the story of Alvarez and his gang of outlawed motorcyclists, the Mayans, hence the title of the spinoff. Also, rumors came out talking about the possibilities that Teller won't come back for the spinoff as well as the prequel.
Furthermore, Sutter's caption of "Are you ready for this? #MayansMC" sparked rumors that the spinoff might just premiere sooner than expected. There are no new updates yet on the spinoff's release but rumors have it that "Mayans MC" might premiere in 2017, during which the prequel "The First 9" is assumed to begin with its production and will then air sometime in 2018.
FX Networks previously confirmed that pre-production of the spinoff is already ongoing and that the script is already in the works. The spinoff "Mayans MC" is being co-created by Sutter and Elgin James. However, there have been no further updates yet on who will star in the series or who, among the original cast, will come back to reprise their roles.
Full details about the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff are yet to be announced by FX.
