Sprint Announces Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Smartphone

After a series of anticipations regarding the launch date of Motorola's Photon Q 4G LTE smartphone, Sprint has officially declared the date on Monday Aug. 13. According to the nation's third-largest long distance network provider, the Moto smartphone is coming on Aug. 19 at $199.99 with a two-year service agreement.

The new Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE phone will have a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

"At Sprint, we recognize there is a large group of our customers that love the ease of a physical QWERTY keyboard," said David Owens, vice president - Product Development, Sprint.

"By bringing a device like Motorola PHOTON Q into our portfolio, we are able to give these customers the option of a physical keyboard plus international roaming capabilities to stay connected while traveling abroad," added Owens.

Apart from the keyboard, the Motorola phone will also have a large 4.3-inch display with ColorBoost technology and scratch-resistant glass, a 8-megapixel primary camera with 1080p video capture capacity, 1.3MP front-facing camera, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and LTE and NFC connectivity.

Moreover, the phone also comes with ULE Platinum Certification, the highest level of environmental performance recognized by sustainable requirements established by UL Environment and Sprint.

Interested users can preorder the Motorola PHOTON Q device at www.sprint.com/photonq and will receive the phone as early as two days before the device goes on sale, informs Sprint.
