Facebook has decided to work on the Life Events feature on its Timeline to provide users with more options on life's special milestones. The additional feature would have more impact than an average simple post.
Per latest reports, the social networking giant has announced a new addition to the Life Events family - "Expecting a Baby," which actually fills a vital information gap between "New Relationship" and "New Child."
"Life Events are easy and expressive ways to mark significant moments in your life such as getting married, buying a house or traveling to new places. If you choose to, you can now share that you are expecting a baby with your friends on Facebook," the official Facebook Newsroom states.
The updated form includes fields for the baby's gender, due date, and other parent, as well as possibly more amusing entries for "location" and "story." What's more, you can also upload an image to make the special event a little more interesting (visually, that is).
Additionally, a recent New York Times report stated that Facebook's stock closed at just under $21.81 on Friday, down from its original $38 on May 18. What this means is that, in less than three months, shares have lost more than 40 percent of their value.
With Facebook's stock seeing dwindling fortunes, the feature updates may be an attempt to draw in users to the site.
