The eBook market will no longer be dominated by Amazon, Barnes&Noble, or Kobo, as BeBook, the little known Dutch manufacturer, has forayed into the eBook reader market by introducing BeBook Pure.
Pure, which measures 8mm and weighs 188 grams, is touted as the world's thinnest eReader and sports a very affordable price tag of £69 ($109), £20 cheaper than Amazon's cheapest eBook reader.
While the absence of touchscreen is a big turn-off for many, five hard keys found directly below the six-inch display will surely increase the ease of use for the keyboard lovers.
The BeBook device sports a reasonable 600MHz processor and 4GB of internal storage space, which can be expanded via microSD card slot up to 32GB. The battery will last for three weeks or 12,000 page views on one single charge, said the manufacturer.
Pure supports not only the popular PDF and ePub format, both with and without Adobe DRM, but it also gives additional support to different formats such as .txt, .HTML, and .fb2, mobipocket.
