“In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment” – Charles Darwin
Darwin’s above-mentioned theory seems to hit the right note with Hammerpoint Interactive, who has released a whole new set of screenshots for its upcoming zombie FPS title, “The War Z.”
“The War Z” is an online, multiplayer, survival-simulation game which is set in an open world that is infested with zombies. Players are hurled into a post-apocalyptic world, five-years after a viral outbreak that destroyed the human population and left, in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportions.
“It's been five years since the outbreak; leaving in its wake a post-apocalyptic nightmare with ninety-five percent of the human population gone. In order to stay alive, you will need food, weapons, and other supplies. Some of you will be able to scavenge as you navigate the terrain, others will be forced to fight for survival as you encounter zombies and other players. Every decision will have an impact on whether you live or how quickly you die,” the game’s official page states.
The game sees hordes of zombies roam the cities. The few remaining human beings have turned into a lawless, nomadic society where the sole objective is to survive at any cost. Players are expected to use skill and cunning in order to acquire food, weapons, and other supplies necessary for survival. While navigating the vast landscape, they will discover cities swarming with the undead as well as other players who may or may not be friendly.
The option to choose one of the hundreds of servers to play on, with each Zombie Game world providing area of up to 400 square kilometers, is available. Later, as more worlds become available, it is possible to switch between servers at any time, without losing the character's data, or paying any "world transfer fees".
“The War Z” is currently in Alpha phase with a closed beta planned for the near future.
