Google Acquires FameBit, Bridges Connection Between Creators And Brands

Google has recently announced their acquisition of technology platform company FameBit. This move will be beneficial in building a better relationship between brands and creators. YouTube, in particular, has always placed great value to both the brands and creators.

YouTube And FameBit

FameBit has already been working with YouTube. The company has been instrumental for brands to market their products. They are able to communicate with YouTuber content creators. FameBit is behind the product placements in the videos of popular YouTubers.

According to Google, the acquisition will allow creators to directly connect with their brands. This is caused by FameBit's democratized marketplace.

Google has not revealed how much they spent to acquire FameBit, according to the Business Insider. The tech company also cleared that FameBit will still work independently. Though that may change in the future.

FameBit's statement says that they will work just like it has. It also acknowledged the impact of being a part of Google. FameBit hopes to connect more brands to creators and engage more audiences. It will make this type of marketing more creative and authentic.

YouTube And Its Video Ads

Google revealed that top 100 advertisers spent 50 percent more on YouTube video ads in 2015. The video sharing website has become a great platform in marketing strategy. More brands are utilizing the reach that YouTube has.

Its Partner Program has been helpful to the creators. YouTubers who have a lot of subscribers can earn from advertisements from his/her videos. In fact, some YouTubers have basically made posting YouTube videos as their day job. It has become their primary source of income.

Google reiterated that this move will only showcase the advantage of such collaborations.

FameBit's Background

Agnes Kozera and David Kierzkowski have founded FameBit three years ago. According to The Wrap, it connects brands with influential YouTubers, Instagram and Twitter users.

FameBit disclosed that it helped them work together on more than 25,000 videos with more than 2 billion minutes of cumulative watch time.
