Diablo 3 – Free Starter Edition Released

More news from the "Diablo 3" front. "Diablo 3" is now available to play for free up to the Skeleton King boss in Act 1 and up to level 13 for those who download the "Diablo 3 Starter Edition" via Battle.net.

The Starter Edition will allow players to experience up to the Skeleton King in the first Act of the game without having to purchase a copy of the game.

"The demonically-besieged world of Sanctuary needs heroes. Now you can join in the apocalyptic battle for FREE via the all-new Diablo III Starter Edition. Available exclusively via Battle.net, the Starter Edition allows you to fight your way up to the Skeleton King boss in Act I, and advance all the way to level 13, without having to purchase a copy of Diablo III," the game's official page states.

To access the Starter Edition, players will need to log into their existing Battle.net account and sign up for it. Alternately, users could create a new Battle.net account and the "Diablo 3" Starter Edition license will be added to the account automatically. Moreover, it can be as easy as grabbing a copy of the game from your friend, installing it and logging in with your Battle.net account.

Although the Starter Edition will have restricted features, any progress and achievements earned while playing it will automatically carry over if a player decides to upgrade to the full version of the game at any time.
