'The Little Mermaid' In Search Of New Lead Actress; Emma Stone To Replace Chloe Grace Moretz?

The new live action movie of "The Little Mermaid" is in the works but Chloe Grace Moretz has just dropped out of the production with rumors that Emma Stone will be replacing her.

Chloe Grace Moretz, 19, has just dropped her role as Ariel in the live action movie adaptation of "The Little Mermaid". The young actress pulled out from the movie when she announced just recently that she is actually taking a break from all of the future movies she has agreed to star in. The news has shocked fans but she assured them that she is not preparing for hiatus but instead is stepping back to slow down and reassess herself as an actress.

"I'm just becoming more picky and particular about what roles I'm choosing. I think as an actor you have a huge opportunity to find yourself through the roles that you choose. I think it's my time, right now in my life, to figure out who I am and what I am and what I want and what this industry means," the 19-year old actress expounded. Despite Moretz clearing things up, some are still speculating that the real reason behind the actress's sudden change of plans might just have something to do with her recent break up with Brooklyn Beckham.

Nevertheless, the bigger problem lies within the production of "The Little Mermaid" as the film is now in haste looking for a new lead actress. Rumor has it that the production is considering Emma Stone or even Ariana Grande to fill in the vacant spot. Emma Stone has already proved herself to be worthy of musical films. Others have suggested other young stars such as Ella Purnell of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" for the re-opened role. Clearly, the film is set out looking for the actress who can act and sing, enough to justify the character of everyone's favorite little mermaid.

"The Little Mermaid" tells the story a mermaid who wants to live on the surface with the human beings as she falls in love with a prince. The original Disney movie featured a vivid adaptation of the popular tale and has popularized its songs "Part of Your World" and "Under The Sea". The live action film adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" is set to be released in 2017.
