Four days after the broadcast of the "Access Hollywood" tape that many have considered lewd, Billy Bush is finally working out the terms with NBC for his exit from "Today." It will take a few days for the two parties to agree on the terms. This is according to two people who have knowledge of the plans.
This Is A Quick Fall From Grace
If the two parties finally agree on the terms, it will demonstrate Bush's quick fall from grace. He just joined the "Today" show last summer just about three months ago. His tenure as a host in the show's 9 a.m. hour segment will now be definitely terminated.
NBC Is Acting Quickly To Regain Confidence Of Viewers
According to the two reliable sources, the exit of Billy Bush is now just a matter of "when" and not "if." The time of his departure will be announced "in the coming days," said one of the sources. In fact, Bush is already effectively gone from the show.
His name is already stricken out from the graphics of the 9 a.m. hour on the first two days of the week. Additionally, Bush and his assistant were nowhere to be seen in the office. It appears that NBC is acting quickly to prevent more damage and restore the confidence of viewers.
What Is In The Tape?
The Billy Bush "Access Hollywood" videotape was filmed in 2005. In the videotape, Bush was laughing and goading Donald Trump as the latter speaks about women in lewd and vulgar terms. Trump apparently was saying that he attempted to have sex with the female co-host of Bush.
To mitigate the situation, Bush apologized last Friday evening. But throughout the weekend, officials at NBC indicated that they don't plan to discipline the erring TV host. There seems to be something that induced the network management to finally give Billy Bush the ax
