Samsung Galaxy S3 Runs an Early Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Galaxy S3, Samsung's flagship smartphone, has embraced Jelly Bean earlier than expected. Although the ROM is in Beta phase, Galaxy S3 is the among the first non-Nexus devices to run Jelly Bean.

A YouTube video from AndroidMX reveals that the South Korean manufacturer will launch the latest Android OS Jelly Bean much sooner than estimated. In fact, the Spanish video reveals that the update is just "days away."

The ten-minute long video shows that the update will not bring any major visual change due to the TouchWiz user interface; however, it will bring enhanced notifications, Google Now, a brightness slider in the pull down notification drawer, introduce smoother scrolling, and more.

According to previous rumors, Samsung was expected to roll out the Jelly Bean update by either August end or first week of September.

SamMobile, in the beginning of August, reported that Samsung has already successfully approved the firmwares for the Galaxy S3 and is currently working on a public version of the GS3's Jelly Been update.

Additionally, the South Korean company was reportedly working on testing the firmwares for two other bestselling smartphones - Galaxy S2 and the Note phablet.
