To celebrate the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, we've made a special tips and tricks begginer's guide into the wonderful world of Skyrim. This guide is composed of top tips and hacks within the game that'll make the life of every newcomer or young dragonborns easier against the harsh environment that is Skyrim. This guide won't include the characters however, as the game will deliver you some insight about the classes themselves at the character creation page.
Skyrim Top Tips And Tricks
The Beginning. The real game begins when you have escaped Helgen and about to part ways with Hadvar - you're on your own in terms of discovering Skyrim and its harsh terrain. There are two things that you must do first and these are important.
First off, you must find the guardian stones; these stones let you choose whichever perk you want depending on your style of gameplay. Whether you want to be a thief, mage, or warrior - you get to pick whichever you want that best suits you in the start. It's important to note that guardian stones aren't permanent and you can activate them anytime, but you can only have one guardian stone and one blessing activated at a time.
Next, you look for Embershard Mine - the closest mine between Helgen and Riverwood. Defeat all the enemies inside and plunder everything they have so you can sell them for early gold. Now find a pickaxe then start mining all veins for Iron Ore. You can turn these irons into weapons and armor at a forge in Riverwood which will level up your Smithing early in the game. Then sell everything you have to The Riverwood Trader.
Talk To Everyone. We know Skyrim is big, but it pays to visit every house, nook and crany to chat up the locals. They might give you some insight about quests and side quests you can do and let you in on some hot juicy Skyrim gossip.
Finish Dark Brotherhood Questline Immediately. There are several guides on how to trigger this particular quest and I suggest you do this early in the game. Running around Skyrim at the beginning can be very tiring as you can only fast travel into places you've discovered. Buying a horse is expensive and worthless since they die immediately in every fight. If you finish the quest line you will get Shadowmere - a very immortal horse.
Make Venison Stew. Instead of making potions, brush up on your cooking skills and make Venison Stew. Stock up on Venison, Salt Pile, Potato and Leek and make Venison Stew in any cooking pot available. These are effective consumables during combat as it restores 15 stamina and 1 point of stamina and health every 720 seconds. The best part is the effects stack up.
Use Dagger For Melee Stealth Skills. Only the dagger can execute clean silent kills as other weapons are loud and may alert other enemies to your position. Magic spells alert people too and must be used only if you're the type to go in guns blazing.
