Barnes & Noble announced, Monday, Aug. 20, that it will introduce its flagship Nook devices and digital content in the UK by mid-October.
According to the company, Nook Simple Touch and Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight will be available in the UK during the holiday season with 'well-known' but yet-to-be-named UK partners. The company expects that its UK partners will offer the Nook devices through their established physical and online channels.
Nook Simple Touch is a 6-inch, 800x600 resolution e-ink e-Reader with Wi-Fi capabilities. The device measures 165.1 x 127 x 11.9mm and weighs 212grams. The GlowLight, on the other hand, is one of the very few e-Readers that are specially designed for perfect bedtime reading.
A UK version of the Nook Store will also be available in fall and will feature 2.5 million digital titles that include top-selling UK books, newspapers and magazines - plus comics, exciting NOOK Apps, and more, informed the company.

Lynch, Chief Executive Officer at Barnes & Noble. "We're confident our award-winning technology, combined with our expansive content - including books, children's books, magazines, apps, movies and more - will bring UK customers the option they've been waiting for."
Barnes & Noble did not provide any additional information with regard to the device's pricing and its exact release date.
