Ronda Rousey Is Back! Will Face Nunes Instead Of Cyborg, Dana White Explains

Finally, the former UFC Women's Champion Ronda ‘Rowdy' Rousey is back after almost a year of hiatus. She is scheduled to fight on December 30 against Amanda Nunes.

It was November last year when we last saw Ronda Rousey in the Octagon. It was the first time as well that we saw the champ knocked out by an excellent striker in Holly Holm.

The disadvantage is visible in the fight as Holm who dominated Rousey in the stand up stance. Ronday literally doesn't know where the strikes are coming from. Rousey was visibly shaken when he took a stiff straight jab and then Holm unleashes her signature move, the high left kick; which landed into Ronda's face.

Ronda then fell flat on the floor and Holly Holm followed it up with few hammer fists. The loss ended Ronda's streak and the champ is in total shock as she is witnessing a new champion being crowned while she is still sitting down and getting attended to by the medical staff.

Few days after the fight, Ronda Rousey is still in shock and depressed. UFC President Dana White commented on Ronda's situation. "Everybody wins or loses, it happens. I don't think anybody saw that coming, Ronda losing any time soon, which is what made it so shocking when it happened. It was never really about a psychological problem with Ronda," White explained when "The Herd".

So the next question is, why Amanda Nunes? Why not the warmachine Cyborg? Ronda Rousey against Cris ‘Cyborg' Justino is match made in heaven. Both competitors expressed already their desire to fight each other in many occasions. Cyborg is the most feared fighter right now in the women's division, no disrespect to the current champion which is Amanda Nunes.

Here's what Dana White have to say about the topic. "I know that Cyborg wants that fight. Ronda wants that fight, too. Ronda's plan right now is to come back and try to win her title back and if that happens, the Cyborg fight will definitely happen."

Right now, UFC fans have to wait if the dream match will happen or Ronda Rousey will have to deal with defeat again. Watch Ronda Rousey's highlight fight below and check why she was the longest reigning champ in the women's division.
