Samsung Galaxy S3 Android Jelly Bean Update Arriving on Aug. 29

The upcoming Samsung event in Berlin on Aug. 29 hinges on a lot of fan expectations. While the revelation of the highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 2 is on the cards, latest reports reveal that the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 will also be pushed out post the event.

According to recent reports, the refresh will be rolled out “shortly after” the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event, which is slated for next Wednesday, Aug. 29. The Jelly Bean update will not only bring the latest Google platform together with Google Now and all the goodies, but also an improved TouchWiz user interface with new features, like dormant mode (to improve notifications), and also an easy mode for home screen operations.

“The current schedule calls for the release of the international S3 Jelly Bean update shortly after the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin, Germany next Wednesday, Aug. 29. That's the same event at which we're expecting to see Samsung's Galaxy Note successor. Following the event, we understand the update will roll out in a number of countries, including the United Kingdom,” states the exclusive Android Central report.

The regions that are expected to get the S3 update include the UK and several other countries. However, there is no word on U.S. and Canada releases.
