Electronic Arts and Bioware have released the official trailer for the upcoming Leviathan DLC of the popular action RPG "Mass Effect 3." The trailer was first shown during EA's Summer Conference.
The new trailer has arrived just after Bioware revealed the official date for the arrival of the DLC, a host of screenshots and a press release for the update. "Mass Effect 3: Leviathan" will be the first story-driven, single player DLC to be made available since "Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut."
The new storyline revolves around Leviathan, a traitor, who killed one of his own and has been exiled for ten years. Leviathan is in charge of a programmed Batarian colony where Shepard meets him, after being sent to rescue scientist Ann Brynson, and can have him join the fight against the Reapers.
"Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late. Coming later this summer there is no war, only the harvest," states the game's official page.
"Taking place during the events of Mass Effect 3, players will be thrust into the darkest corners of space where they will hunt a mysterious being rumored to be powerful enough to destroy a Reaper. As they race against time, they will begin to unravel the secret of the Leviathan."
The Leviathan DLC pack is set for an Aug. 28 release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC users. PS3 users in Europe will have access to the DLC on Aug. 28.
