It seems like Google and Verizon have forgotten the one phone which helped the company introduce Android and put it on the map. However, hackers have managed to keep the device alive that is on the verge of reaching its third birthday.
An XDA-Developers forum member recently released an alpha Jelly Bean ROM for the device and early reports suggest that it is quite stable, despite the fact that the Motorola DROID comes with a 550MHz single-core processor and 256MB of RAM, which falls well short of Jelly Bean’s minimum requirements.
The new port has also brought about a host of added features in improvements to the Droid. A few of them include an added camera app, FM Radio, and media codecs that fixes the sound issue of the device. Users also get a fixed bootloop. Check out the video below for additional information.
Additionally, the ICS update for Motorola RAZR is set for a September release in Canada. While American owners of the Verizon variant of the phone got their Android 4.0 updates at the Q2 2012 end and the European variants of the device have just started getting their own updates, the Canadian users are still waiting.
