Microsoft finally has an answer to all the cloud storage services like Google Drive and Dropbox. Per new reports, Microsoft has unveiled its newest cloud storage service - SkyDrive. What's more, it's currently available in Google's Play Store.
The new app allows users to quickly and easily access all their SkyDrive files, including those that have been shared with them. Now, users can also choose multiple photos or videos to upload from their device, send links to other users via e-mail or other apps for sharing SkyDrive on other apps, as well as manage files.
"SkyDrive is the place to store your files so you can access them from virtually any device. With SkyDrive for Android, you can now easily access and share files on the go. You can also upload photos or videos from your phone to SkyDrive," states the official Play Store page .
The official Windows blog asserts that "In building the new SkyDrive app for Android, we wanted to ensure we kept the same intuitive design of all SkyDrive experiences while also making use of Android design patterns and conventional interactions, so this feels natural for people with Android phones."
The current SkyDrive release is available for Android phones and provides access to Google Play. Additionally, even though fully functional on Android Gingerbread and other updated versions "the new app is designed to work best with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)."
SkyDrive is currently available for free and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. To know more about SkyDrive and its features check here.
