Samsung, not known for its speedy Android updates, will soon release the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its hugely-popular Galaxy S3 smartphone and the recently launched Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
At the IFA 2012 event on Wednesday (Aug. 29), the Korean tech company made the announcement that the Jelly Bean update will hit both the devices "very soon." Currently, both the devices run the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
While the company representative did not mention the original Galaxy Note, the phablet did feature on the company's Jelly Bean slide, which would lead consumers to believe that the phablet will eventually receive an update.
Earlier this month, AndroidMX.net reported that an official build of Jelly Bean for the international Samsung Galaxy S3 variant has been released. The leaked official version of Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 implemented the new Notification system for more interactive controls on an individual notification. It also added a brightness dial right on the pull-down bar.
According to a Droid Life report, the leaked Jelly Bean update also introduced Google Now and Project Butter.
