Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition Gets More Powerful With 8GB RAM

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold is now available for a hefty price of $999.99. But the new edition's high price is not just for its gold coating, Samsung also bumped it up a little in terms of its RAM, upping its memory and having a better performance.

Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition Upgrades Its RAM

The most obvious upgrade of the Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition is the bigger RAM. Instead of just 4GB, the Gold Edition packs double the RAM of the original model at 8GB. This only means better and faster performance for consumers who need plenty of memory for their applications to run smoothly.

More Flash, A More Expensive Model

Nothing much is new with the Gold Edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S except for its flashier look and upgraded RAM. Consumers will still get the same 12-inch display that is on Full HD with Super AMOLED technology. The Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition has the same Intel M3 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. Both cameras, primary and secondary, use a 5-megapixel sensor which is a sensible choice for video chats and taking photos.

Without the keyboard, the Gold Edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S still weighs a lightweight 1.53 pounds. It has the same USB-C and USB-A ports for charging and peripherals respectively. What makes the difference is that the flashier model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S costs $200 more than the earlier model. This only means that the new gold package will cost consumers a total of $999.99.

Worth the money?

Still, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition might be worth the money with a solid state drive as their default and a 256GB of memory available. The Galaxy Tab Pro S is also touted to last more than 10 hours of video playback thanks to its whopping 5,200 mAh battery. But that end is still debatable given that many factors are involved when determining a mobile device's actual battery life.
