Am I the only one who is excited for the New NBA Season? Oh, just bluffing. There are a lot of marquee match up to watch this opening season. During the off-season, there are a lot of changes made and a lot of superstars who were traded from one team to another.
The most notable trade or change would be the addition of former Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant to Golden State Warriors. Durant who was eliminated by the Warriors last year decided to join the team that once beat him. Also, another former Most Valuable Player was on the move as homegrown Derrick Rose from Chicago was traded to Big Apples, New York Knicks.
Both MVP's said that the trade made was grade for them and they are looking for a fresh new start. But the question is, how will they perform when they'll meet their former team. How will they face a harsh crowd at the very beginning. Rose has entirely different situation than Durant, but surely both of them will hear it.
With the schedule already finalized and released, we are going to make a list of five games you don't dare to miss this season. Old rivals and new rivals will be definitely on the list. More bad bloods and high power offense will be displayed. So let us all check it out starting with number 1.
1. Oklahoma City Thunder vs Golden State Warriors
This will be epic in all proportions. With Kevin Durant gone, this is already Russell Westbrook's team. It is also one of the greatest storyline ever created in sports history, The Betrayal of Durant and Westbrook's vengeance. Also, we won't forget the Splash bros together with Iggy and Draymond.
2. New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls
The return of the former MVP Derrick Rose will surely be the headline on this one but, it will be Dwyane Wade's homecoming as well as he will play for the first time at United Center in Chicago as a member of the Chicago Bulls. Rose and Wade are both native from Chicago. How will the Windy City react when D.Rose and Noah returns to their old stadium.
3. New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers
I'm going to put this on top 3 because it would be the opening night and crowning ceremony for the NBA Champs. Knicks are also considered as a threat to the defending champions. With Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Kristaps Porzingis and Brandon Jennings, the King and his crew will have a tough battle on its opening day.
4. Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
This would be the rematch of last years NBA finals. There are some key additions on each team but no bigger than Kevin Durant. KD and the king already met in the finals once and KD wants some vengeance. Forming the greatest offensive team ever, Durant will now have all the things he needed for another championship run. But don't count out the champs as they've climb the ladder last year and bounce back from 3-1 deficit.
5. San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors
With the surefire Hall of Famer already retired in Tim Duncan, we will see a new lineup from the Spurs. They've added perennial all stars Pau Gasol and David Lee to strengthen their front court and also, we might see the emergence of Kawhi Leonard as this will be his team this year. 73 wins vs 67 wins will be the headline. Will Pop be back on his winning ways, or Steve Kerr's 3 headed monster will spoil the new era of Spurs.
