While the perennial speculations surrounding Microsoft's Xbox 720 and Sony's PlayStation 4 are responsible for generating most of the next-gen gaming console, Nintendo has quietly emerged as the prime contender who could pave the way for the arrival of next-gen consoles.
Per reports, all eyes are on Nintendo's upcoming Wii U ahead of the company's event on Sept. 13. The company is expected to reveal the official pricing and launch date details for the console at the event.
GameFAQs member "h0undd0gg" has currently posted a video (find below) showing three potential SKUs that are reportedly planned. So if the new leak is to be believed, pricing for the Wii U could start as low as $249.99 and top out at $349.99.
According to the video, listings fromVideos Products Distributors (VPD), providers of wholesale games to U.S. retailers including Amazon, Blockbuster and Overstock have suggested that the Wii U may launch on Nov. 11 with bundles priced at $249.99, $299.99, and $349.99.
More information regarding what each bundle would include is yet to be revealed, although a report from Nintendolife believes that gamers will be treated with a new game or extra GamePad controller when they acquire the package.
According to a HotHardware report, in an earlier interview with a Japanese newspaper, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said Nintendo will price the new console carefully after the backlash it received with its 3DS console. Iwata's assertions seem to validate the current information.
"We won't make the same mistake we did with the 3DS, which was considered relatively high by consumers," said Iwata .
Previous rumors have suggested that the Wii U could launch on Nov. 18.
