Motorola on Wednesday, Sept. 5, took the wraps off its new range of RAZR smartphones. The company showcased three devices: Droid RAZR HD, the Droid RAZR Maxx HD, and the Droid RAZR M, describing them as a "big family launch" to tap the holiday season.
These three new Moto Android smartphones would go on sale at 30 other carriers around the world and will run exclusively on Verizon network in the U.S.
Feature Summary
The smartphones promised to provide speed, power, design, and the best Android experiences. The RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD smartphones are said to be high-end models and will be launched by the end of the year, while the mid-range RAZR M will hit stores next week.
According to Motorola, all three RAZR phones will sport the usual Corning Gorilla Glass display, DuPont KEVLAR fiber, and a splash-guard coating. The company has also informed that these new RAZR smartphones will be shipped with the Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich, but Motorola is expected to roll out the latest Jelly Bean OS very soon.
Additionally, Motorola packs in the common features of the Android platform - Chrome, Google Play, Google Maps, Voice Actions, Google+, and YouTube.
Droid RAZR HD
The RAZR HD sports a 4.7-inch HD display that comes with 85 percent greater color saturation and 50 percent more pixels per inch. The phone supports 24 hours of battery performance and up to 10 hours of movies and TV shows, or 6 hours of surfing the Web, reports Motorola.
Available in sleek black or stand out white, the Motorola RAZR HD will be launching soon in Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, and Latin America.
Droid RAZR Maxx HD
Droid RAZR Maxx HD comes with a 4.7-inch HD display and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.The Droid RAZR Maxx HD packs in similar features to that of the RAZR HD. However, the most significant feature of the phone is its beefier 3300mAh battery that supports 32 hours of performance. Despite a monstrous battery, the phone is very slick and is only 9.3mm thick.
Droid RAZR M
The mid-range RAZR M phone will be coming with an unbelievable price tag of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. The 4.3-inch RAZR M smartphone features a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, a long-lasting battery that is 40 percent more powerful than the competition, and will come in two colors - sleek black or stand out white.
For developer and custom ROM enthusiasts, DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD will come in a special developer edition available online only through motorola.com in the U.S.
