Sports Interactive has announced the latest in the “Football Manager" series – “Football Manager 2013.”
As far as the details are concerned, this year’s version will allow users to take control of any club in more than 50 nations across the world and includes all of Europe’s biggest leagues as well as database of over 500,000 real-world players and staff.
Players can either take up a full career or try out the Challenge mode, where players test their managerial abilities over a period of time. As many as five challenges based on realistic scenarios will be shipped along with the game .
A notable difference in this year’s version is the significant restructure of the manager’s staff and a revamp of their roles. The most obvious alteration is the introduction of the position of Director of Football into the game for the first time, which will allow managers to pass on some of their workload, such as contract negotiations, if they choose to.
Two new modes – Classic and Challenge Modes – have also been included. The Classic Mode is a less time-consuming way to enjoy Football Manager. The essence of the game is exactly the same i.e., the manager still takes charge of a squad of players and competes at whatever level he or she chooses; however, they will now find that either the support staff has taken over a number of responsibilities or they have disappeared completely.
The Challenge Mode, on the other hand, will place gamers in a particular situation which will test their management skills over a shorter game time – usually half a season. The Challenge Mode was first introduced in “Football Manager Handheld 2012.”
“Football Manager 2013” will be published by Sega, and is set to be released for PC and Mac.
