Acrobat Reader Updated for Windows Phone

Finally the update everybody was looking forward to. Per reports, Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows Phone has received a major update that aims to improve the feature for all the devices that are based on Windows Phone.

The new update is a big improvement over the basic Acrobat Reader, which arrived when the first Windows Phone 7 was released. The previous, basic build, that was available in the market, enabled users to just view PDFs on the new device. However, although the process was slow and lacked other features, it was still usable.

Now the newest build - Adobe Acrobat Reader X - has arrived with a new design and some extra useful options. These options include continuous/single page view, document search, and a "recently viewed" documents pane. What's more, performance related to zooming and panning seems to have improved.

Other features include viewing PDF Portfolios, password-protected PDF files and sticky notes, searching text to find specific information, using bookmarks to jump directly to a section in the PDF file, and quickly navigating through large files using scrubber. Users can also select and copy text from a PDF file to the clipboard.

However, note that if the user opts to open a hefty PDF, it will still take some time to re-render the graphics at each zoom level.
