The Google Drive app for iOS and Android just keeps getting better and better. Per reports, the mobile Google Drive for both the platforms has received significant changes that have improved the app’s features.
When it comes to both platforms, iOS users will consider themselves luckier as the most significant changes are for them. The iOS version of the app now has the ability to view as well as edit Google documents, a feature that was overdue for iOS users.
Other new features for iOS include new file management tools, ability to create a new document, editing an existing one or formatting the text, as well as grouping the files accordingly. Similar to a computer, the users will be able to see other people’s edits instantly, as they’re made.
“You’ll also notice other new improvements to the iOS Drive app. For example, you can now view Google presentations on your iPhone or iPad, including speaker notes, full-screen mode and the ability to swipe between slides,” the official Google Blog states. “You can also create new folders, move files into folders and upload stuff (like photos and videos) from your device directly in the Drive app.”
As far as Android is concerned, users, apart from the same file management and presentation additions, will now be able to add comments, reply to already existing comments, and view tables in Google documents.
Google also holds major plans related to Google Drive for the future. The company said that it will be bringing native editing and real-time collaboration for Google spreadsheets.
