GTA 5 Zombie DLC Or Red Dead Redemption 2? What Rockstar's Teaser Means

Rockstar Games put up a mysterious photo in their Twitter account on Sunday. The image, which shows their logo in the center of a sea of red, was taken to hint to a Red Dead Redemption 2 reveal. However, it may refer to an entirely different thing - new GTA 5 Zombie DLC.

GTA 5 Zombie DLC For Halloween

According to iDigitalTimes, there are some who think that the Twitter teaser alludes to a GTA 5 Zombie DLC. Apparenty, the fifth installment to the hit franchise still lacks that Halloween feel despite the latest update that brought strong rainfall and some spooky elements.

The red-washed teaser photo is being speculated to mean that a zombie horde is coming soon to GTA 5, which would explain the color. If it's true, then we can expect the title to be really bloody. A GTA 5 Zombie DLC would add that scary halloween feel, which others feel that the game needs right now.

However, it can be remembered that the latest major update, the Bikers, was just released on Oct. 4. It was rumored to be coming as early as August, but it was finally launched two months after.

It is unlikely that Rockstar has already finished another one in a span of less than a month. So for now, let's take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Finally Getting Announced?

The most popular rumor that Rockstar's teaser sparked is the arrival of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rumors about a sequel have been going around for years, seeing as the original RDR title was launched as far back as 2010.

When Rockstar released another red-washed image on Twitter - this time with a group of human shadows in front of what seems like a setting sun. The photo published today - just a day after the first one - seems to lean more on Red Dead Redemption 2 rather than on GTA 5.

Per GameSpot, we can expect another photo tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET, as both teasers were released at that time. Hopefully, Rockstar will keepthis going for at least a week.

These teasers might also lead to the reveal. At this time, it is unknown when and how Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced, if it will be at all.

There are also circulating rumors about a remaster of the original title for the PS4 (or even the PS4 Pro), which means that no Red Dead Redemption 2 might be coming our way.

It has been six years since the first title was released, but it's still not too late to launch a sequel. Most franchises have about four to six years in between installments, so wishing for a Red Dead Redemption 2 is not too far-fetched.

There's no shortage of hopeful fans either. Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most repeated titles in gamers' wishlist. Now that rumors about it are getting hotter and hotter, this is actually the best time to make the grand reveal.

However, this is Rockstar we're talking about. For now, fans can only keep wishing until the devs finally give in and announce that they have been actually working on Red Dead Redemption 2 (let it be not GTA 5 Zombie DLC).
