Rumors of an HTC phablet have been doing the rounds for some time and now an image of the purported phablet has surfaced online.
Codenamed the HTC 6435LVW, a reliable source the HTC phablet's details were confirmed to HTCSource,
"It turns out that the HTC 6435LVW is everything we were hoping for," stated the HTCSource report.
The next HTC biggie will feature a 5-inch 1080p HD display with 480ppi pixel density, quad-core Snapdragon S4, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. Additionally, the new HTC device will give a second notification LED for calls/missed alerts/charging on the rear of the device near the camera. The source also disclosed that HTC has also decided not to pack in a microSD card slot for external storage with the phablet. Moreover, battery in the new HTC phablet is also expected to be non-removable.
"Currently, the device is being referred to as the HTC DIx, but the name is still up in the air," stated HTCSource.
The HTC phablet is expected to be marketed under the DROID name, courtesy the "red techno" background and an unmistakable robotic 'DROID' notification sound." The tipster, however, could not make the HTC Scribe pen from the Flyer tablet work with the DIx. He believes that either the Taiwanese company will introduce a new stylus with the phablet or will not market this device with capabilities similar to rival Samsung's Galaxy Note.
