Pokemon GO News: How Does Niantic Intend To Solve Tracker Problem

Many Pokemon GO players are well aware that the in-game tracker is not working as it was supposed to. The various third party trackers were more reliable but most if not all of them have been put out of business by Niantic's constant security update.

Niantic Update On Pokemon GO Tracking Problem

Mobile game developer Niantic announced that it is currently working on the improved tracker. In fact, the new tracker is currently in beta mode and "geo-locked to San Francisco" according to a Niantic spokesperson. However, no specific date has been set for its release.

Many Pokemon GO observers and player believed that the game will lost majority of its players if the tracker is not fixed before winter sets in. One Reddit poster explained that going out during the winter season is bad enough. But playing Pokemon GO out the in the cold without a reliable tracker does not seem worth it.

Niantic Explains Its Hardline Stance Against Third Party Trackers

Niantic said that its actively discouraging third party trackers as well as bots and GPS spoofer since these apps are actually hampering how Pokemon GO should be played. Critics argue that Niantic's inability to provide a working in-game tracker is also making it difficult for people to play Pokemon GO.

Race To Provide Reliable Pokemon GO Tracker

Niantic is not the only one working to provide a working tracker for Pokemon GO. The unnamed developer for FastPokeMap has promised that his app will be tracking Pokemon again real soon. The FPM creator originally announced that the tracking app would be ready last Saturday.

However, as of press time the FPM site is still down. If Niantic succeeds in providing a better in-game tracker, most players would likely stick to it. Right now, this is the most important feature most Pokemon Go players are asking from Niantic.
