With the disappearance of the Note 7 from the mobile market, Samsung's competitors can get an increase in sales. One of the smartphone companies that are expected to be positively affected by Samsung's recall is Apple. As per recent reports, analysts believe that iPhone sales will considerably increase now that the Note 7 is out of the market.
Analysts' Points Of View About Apple's Future Sales
Brian White, a Drexel Hamilton analyst, believes that Apple can sell up to 8 million iPhone units now that the Galaxy Note 7 has been discontinued, Phone Arena reported. During Samsung's first Note 7 recall, it was already clear that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus could be two of the main smartphones that will benefit from Samsung's misfortune. But now that prominent analysts are echoing what people are already thinking about, fans know that the competition game within the mobile market is a pretty serious matter.
Apart from White, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is also a believer that Apple will benefit from the Note 7 fiasco. According to 9to5mac, Ming-Chi Kuo expects Apple to get a significant sales gain from former and current owners of the Galaxy Note 7. The KGI analyst believes that out of around 12 million Note 7 buyers, about half of them will shift to the iPhone 7 Plus. He says that the 7 Plus would be a primary choice for people because of its dual-cam feature and its phablet size.
Other Galaxy Note 7 Alternative
While the iPhones are usually the biggest competition for Samsung's flagships, not everyone is willing to shift from Android to iOS. With that, Android OEMs like LG, Google, HTC and Huawei might also benefit from Note 7's discontinuation. It's worth noting that the LG V20 and Google's Pixel phones are about to be released next month, so these two phone companies can also gain sales from Note 7 owners who are looking for replacements. Samsung's only chance of not losing their users is if these people opt for the S7 and S7 Edge as their Galaxy Note 7 replacements.
